Workplace accommodations

As applicable to local laws in each country, Microsoft offers a variety of accommodations for employees and applicants with medical needs or disabilities (including pregnancy-related and mental health conditions). We are committed to engaging in an interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations, if any, we can make in response to a request. In working with employees’ needs, Microsoft will implement reasonable accommodations that are inclusive, appropriate, and consistent with its legal obligations and do not impose undue hardship on the company.

If a medical, pregnancy or disability-related limitation interferes with an employee’s job performance or their ability to access company benefits, they are encouraged to consider accommodation options using the resources below. Requests for accommodation are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The Disability Inclusion Hub provides the resources employees need to help ensure an inclusive and accessible experience at Microsoft. Employees should make it their starting point for discovering the disability-related resources available to them.

Depending on the nature of an employee’s medical needs or disability, an ergonomics self-assessment may reveal areas for the improvement of their work environment and provide options to help address them.

Ergonomics is a common accommodation requested. Prior to requesting an accommodation related to ergonomics, employees should see the Ergonomics page to understand if these resources can help them with their ergonomics issue.
