Employees are entitled to a healthy and safe working environment, and information about risks and how to avoid them. If employees believe certain work poses a risk to their health or life, they are entitled to refuse such work. According to Microsoft's classification, based on Act no. 258/2000 Sb. (Public Health Protection Bill), all employees are in Category 1; that is, according to current knowledge, their work is not likely to have a detrimental impact on their health.

Working together

We want everyone who works at or with Microsoft to be safe and healthy. That's why we ask employees to be aware of any risks presented by the tasks they perform at Microsoft. All Microsoft FTE and external staff are required to conduct a risk assessment before commencing work to ensure safety during their activities. This process allows work to proceed once safe procedures have been defined and all foreseeable hazards have been considered.

Healthy workplace

Safety Committee

The Safety Committee is a group of employee volunteers who work to improve health and safety in our workplace, creating a balance between our work and our work environment. The primary functions are:

Champion safety procedures and support safety communications to employees.

Ensure measures proposed to prevent work-related accidents and illnesses are implemented within the organization.

The Safety Committee is typically composed of managers and employees. Team members interested in joining the committee can contact Global OHS for more information.

If an employee is injured or falls ill suddenly at work and needs immediate medical assistance, the nearest colleague must call the rescue service on 155. If no immediate transport is needed, they should call the medical facility: Program Health+ (+420 227 071 111).

After reporting the injury to Microsoft and the injury investigation is complete, the injury will be documented in the Book of Injuries. Every occupational injury, including those that did not result in incapacity for work, must be recorded. Employees can request a Book of Injuries by contacting Global OHS.
